QUALIFICATIONS

Bayardo Hannon Jirón is a certified jewelry professional with a lifetime of industry experience.  Hannon Jewelers is a third generation family owned business, and has served Southern Louisiana since 1980.  Mr. Hannon is a Graduate Gemologist from the Gemological Institute of America and one of only 600American Gem Society Certified Gemologist Appraisers in the United States and Canada. 

The American Gem Society is a highly selective professional organization that holds members of the jewelry industry accountable to high ethical standards, gemological knowledge and experience, and consumer protection. 

AGS’s Certified Gemologist Appraiser title is the most highly regarded in the industry.  Earning the CGA title requires additional advanced training and experience in determining the value of gemstones and jewelry.  All CGA titleholders also must pass annual recertification exams to maintain this prestigious title. 

Since a jewelry appraisal may be one of the most important, and complicated, documents to complete accurately, only a credentialed professional should provide information and reliable documentation on the quality and value of your jewelry.  That is why it’s essential to work with an unbiased appraiser you can trust, a gemologist appraiser certified by the American Gem Society.  Hannon Jewelers is dedicated to providing our customers with the most comprehensive (or detailed) gemological reports.  We offer reports such as insurance replacement value, estate evaluation, statement of replacement value, and identification of an item.

Hannon Accredited Gem Laboratory

Hannon Jewelers also provides our customers with a welcoming and professional environment.  An Accredited Gem Laboratory is a special designation awarded only to a qualifying AGS member firms that have proven their dedication to professional gemological identification in accordance with the Membership Standards of the AGS.  Hannon Jewelers Gem Lab contains gemological equipment and reference materials in a dedicated space for research and analytical purposes.
